A setting with character

A larger room.
A personal gathering.

The house publishes a maximum group size of up to 130 people for the ballroom, with the option to divide the room for smaller gatherings. Its three fireplaces, log-cabin feature and adjacent gift shop distinguish it from the smaller historic dining rooms.

That published maximum is a starting point for a conversation. The number that suits a seated meal, buffet or other arrangement must be confirmed with the house; it is not a capacity promise for every configuration.

The official room guide names large parties and wedding receptions among its uses. Ask what is currently offered for your occasion, including the meal and room arrangement. No wedding package or ceremony facilities are represented here.

The wider house

Not every occasion
needs a ballroom.

The Alexander Dobbin Dining Rooms comprise six historic rooms. Smaller parties can discuss settings shaped by bookshelves, fireplaces, wide-board floors, antiques and the original domestic character of the house.

Published ranges below describe the operator’s group suggestions. Availability, privacy, table configuration, stairs and the route to a suitable bathroom all need confirmation. Some evenings have restrictions.

The Library

10–15 people · published group range

Private room; Shelves of old books; Oriental rug; Fireplace.

The Dining Room

15–25 people · published group range

The Parlour and Study

12–35 people · published group range

Adjoining rooms; Two fireplaces; Paneling.

The Bedrooms

25–70 people · published group range

Upstairs room; Canopy tester bed dining decor. A dining setting in the historic house, separate from the inn accommodations.

The Spinning Room

At the table

Choose the meal.
Then make it yours.

The group collection includes served dinners, banquet buffets, luncheons, breakfast and hors d’oeuvres. Minimums, choices and charges vary by menu. A smaller room’s suggested group size does not automatically qualify it for a buffet package.

A useful starting point

For a toast, a meeting,
or a shared celebration.

Tell Group Sales what matters to your party: time together around the table, a meal within a wider visit, or space for the occasion itself. Ask about the room and arrangements before making plans for entertainment, speeches, decorations or equipment.

Current arrangements and any extra charges require a direct conversation. The website does not guarantee event production services.

The next step

Tell us about your gathering.

The date, the size of your group, and the kind of meal you have in mind are a good place to begin. The house will help you work through the details.

An inquiry does not confirm a room, menu, date or reservation.
